For many pregnant women, one of the issues that makes them wonder is creating a menu that ensures nutrition for themselves during pregnancy, after giving birth and breastfeeding, as well as for the baby.

According to MSc. Dr. Nguyen Thi To Thu - Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City (District 5), ensuring nutrition is very important in the development of pregnancy, for pregnant mothers and postpartum babies.
Build a balanced meal structure
"Recognizing the importance of nutrition will help mothers and babies receive balanced nutrition, help mothers have a healthy pregnancy, and help babies develop better in the first years of life," said Dr. Thu.
Suggesting that pregnant women refer to and use the nutritionally balanced menu building software developed by Ajinomoto Vietnam Company, the Department of Mothers and Children and the National Institute of Nutrition - under the Ministry of Health, Dr. Thu said that this is a practical tool, helping mothers refer to suitable meals.
"The meal structure suggested by the software will help mothers combine all necessary nutrient groups. If the software is widely applied, the meal structure will be more balanced, and babies following this diet will also have easier access to fiber sources, reducing the risk of constipation," Dr. Thu emphasized.

In addition, Dr. Thu also noted that this is a menu for the community. If the pregnant woman has a medical condition, such as gestational diabetes, she should follow the advice or consult directly with a specialist, and reduce the amount of starch so that the total energy is suitable for each person.

More confident when planning menus
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, living in Ho Chi Minh City, commented that the menu with 2,500 different dishes will help mothers worry less about finding suitable food for their babies, especially during the weaning period or when the baby moves to other stages of development.
"Before taking care of my first child, I had to go online to find recipes for my baby. However, because there was so much information online, I often felt confused. With this software, all information is provided in advance and has a high level of accuracy, so I feel very secure," she said.
During use, Ms. Tam said that the function of monitoring the health of mother and baby is the most convenient. Just enter the baby's weight, age in months and the mother's weight to be able to fully monitor the baby's care process.
"Regarding the menu for mothers and babies, I found the instructions detailed, the ingredients easy to find, and the prices reasonable, suitable for the family's financial situation," she added.

Ms. Tran Thi Hai Ha - currently raising two children, the older one is 27 months old and the younger one is three days old - has the same thought.
She shared that when she gave birth to her first child, preparing food for her baby gave her a headache. Every time she looked for a recipe, Ha had to choose from many different sources, sometimes not knowing how to combine dishes to be suitable and nutritious.
"When I was introduced to this tool, I found it very convenient because it provides ready-made menus with detailed cooking instructions, quick lookup, and easy to find suitable dishes for children. Thanks to that, I save a lot of time while still ensuring that the menu for children is always diverse and full of nutrition," said Ms. Ha.

Ms. Hai Ha shared that after trying to access, in addition to the eye-catching colors, she was very pleased to find the software easy to use. The menu not only provides dishes for children but also dishes for mothers.
"I find this software very effective, especially for busy families or those who do not have much experience in raising young children. Thanks to the software, my whole family, especially my older child, has a complete and suitable menu without me having to think much. I will continue to use the software to support better care for my children," she said.
A "powerful" tool to support medical staff
Officially deployed nationwide since 2020 to contribute to the goal of improving nutrition and health for Vietnamese mothers and children, the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program has now spread to 63 provinces and cities nationwide, with more than 19,000 health workers and more than 1.3 million mothers accessing and using the program's content.
Ajinomoto Vietnam is continuing to closely coordinate with local health departments, including coordination with hospitals with obstetrics and pediatrics departments, to facilitate beneficiaries to access and apply the program in daily health care and nutrition.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (District 5) is one of the medical units that has implemented the Maternal and Child Nutrition Program since 2021.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung, a specialist in the social work department of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City (District 5), shared that during her conversations with pregnant women, she learned that they had difficulty finding sources of information to create a balanced nutritional menu for their babies.
"When we guide the use of the software, the mothers really like it because the menus are built according to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, very safe. They feel secure. The dishes are also diverse with 2,500 recipes for mothers to choose according to each stage of themselves - during pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding as well as the baby's development stage - from postpartum to under 5 years old," she said.
"This software has also become a "powerful" tool to help nurses' work, helping to save time and provide more detailed and systematic information during the consultation process for pregnant women," she added.
