However, AI not only does not take away jobs, but can also create more jobs. According to the World Economic Forum's forecast in 2020, by the end of 2025, AI could replace about 85 million jobs but also create 97 million new positions.

Here are the five fastest-growing AI jobs, according to data from ZipRecruiter and Indeed.

AI product managers are responsible for building strategy and overseeing the development of AI products. This job requires an understanding of AI technology along with project management and business skills.

Data from ZipRecruiter and Indeed shows that all five of these jobs have remote work opportunities. Additionally, three of the five positions—AI engineer, AI consultant, and AI researcher—are also on LinkedIn’s “On the Rise” list for 2022-2024.

Big corporations like Meta, Netflix, and Amazon have been hiring AI workers in droves in recent years, with salaries as high as $900,000. Beyond the tech sector, AI is also having a major impact on industries like retail, finance, healthcare, and education, driving demand for AI-skilled workers.

Not all AI jobs are technical. The growth of the technology is creating many important support roles such as AI content moderators, compliance managers, AI trainers, and fact-checkers. These roles help ensure AI operates accurately, transparently, and ethically.

While some AI jobs require a degree, more and more companies are focusing on hiring based on skills rather than degrees. According to ZipRecruiter, the most common skills in AI jobs include programming, software development, and content writing.

Ryan Sutton, managing director of technology at recruiting firm Robert Half, said the trend toward skills-based hiring is set to continue in the AI space. “There are a lot of innovators in this space who don’t need a college degree and can still be successful, as long as they have the right skills,” Sutton said.

According to experts, with the rapid expansion of AI, job opportunities in this industry will increase, not only for engineers but also for those with creative thinking and flexible skills.
