VNPT and Ho Chi Minh City Television signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation

According to the signed strategic cooperation agreement, to implement the digital transformation plan of Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) according to the roadmap, helping HTV become a multi-media and multimedia press agency, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) will provide HTV and its member units with solutions, products, telecommunications - information technology services, digital transformation, digital content, digital payment, information security, ... with optimal quality, in line with modern development trends.

VNPT General Director Huynh Quang Liem and HTV General Director Cao Anh Minh signed a cooperation agreement between the two units.

On October 21, in Ho Chi Minh City, HTV and VNPT signed a cooperation agreement on digital transformation for the period 2024-2030. This agreement aims to create favorable conditions for the two enterprises to take advantage of, promote and resonate with each other's strengths in the fields of telecommunications - information technology - multimedia communications. HTV and VNPT commit to prioritizing the use of products, services and utilities in the ecosystems of both parties. In the initial phase of cooperation, VNPT will deploy the construction of a platform and application for HTV to provide digital television services on the internet platform (OTT). The digital television platform provided by VNPT will help HTV deploy the provision of television services to the majority of television viewers via the internet; synchronize and optimize the storage and transmission of digital content; at the same time, deploy a digital advertising system and distribute digital content on social networking platforms. The solution developed by VNPT is provided on a cloud computing platform, applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology, big data (BigData), applying the latest transmission technology (online video streaming) with the lowest latency and highest image quality. Through this digital television platform, the two sides can exchange and create digital content to provide to television viewers. Speaking at the signing ceremony, VNPT Group General Director Huynh Quang Liem said that cooperation in providing digital television systems, content and digital advertising platforms is one of the important strategic cooperation contents between VNPT and HTV. In the period of digital transformation being a national strategic program, the cooperation between VNPT and HTV not only brings individual values ​​to each unit but is also a pioneering step, creating a premise for radio and television stations across the country to promote digital transformation and work towards the 2030 goal set by the Government that by 2030, at least 90% of radio and television stations will have converted to digital, operating according to the multimedia media agency model. Also at the ceremony, HTV General Director Cao Anh Minh shared that this cooperation between HTV and VNPT marks an important step in HTV's digital transformation roadmap to build a diverse media ecosystem, improving the quality of information to the audience. Digital transformation is not only an inevitable trend but also an opportunity for HTV to restructure and become a multimedia press agency. Along with that is the application of advanced technologies from VNPT to distribute diverse content on many different infrastructures, thereby enhancing and expanding the ability to reach all audiences. To achieve the above goals, with the support of VNPT, HTV will continue to focus on developing more program content suitable for each audience segment, while improving the quality of human resources to meet the increasing demands of the modern media market. VNPT is currently the leading unit in Vietnam in deploying the application of IPTV and OTT television technology, bringing the best experience to serve the entertainment needs of audiences on many different platforms. VNPT's MyTV television service is currently leading the market segment with more than 200 domestic and international television channels, accounting for 27.6% of the market share of pay TV service subscribers in Vietnam and is provided nationwide. In addition to the television sector, VNPT has focused on investing resources to perfect solutions and deploy product and service ecosystems to promote digital transformation of enterprises. In particular, focusing on methods to digitize production and business processes, transforming the way enterprises operate on the basis of information technology systems. As the main multimedia media agency in providing Vietnamese television channels and content and leading in viewership in the southern region, HTV is an influential television station not only in Vietnam but also in the region, serving the needs of foreign information, meeting the information needs of Vietnamese people abroad. With 15 TV channels, in addition to providing information, HTV is also the producer and copyright holder of many attractive entertainment forms such as TV series, variety shows, game shows, sports tournaments, and Vietnam tourism promotion... Along with HTV's strength in producing purely Vietnamese content, this strategic cooperation has also opened up a model of providing and sharing HTV's content on VNPT's MyTV television infrastructure and vice versa.
