Specifically, the major in political economy and diplomacy provides in-depth knowledge of global political economy, international relations management and policy making. Students majoring in this major will be equipped with skills in analyzing geopolitical risks, handling conflicts and international economic negotiations.
The Media Economics and Journalism major helps students understand the interaction between economics and the media industry, while also equipping them with skills in analyzing media data and developing in-depth content. Graduates of this major can take on roles as media analysts, business editors or digital content developers.
The Digital Economy and Management major trains students in big data management and exploitation, digital product development, and business management in a digital environment. Students will master digital economic models and technology applications in business administration.
The major in economic management provides knowledge of economic management and policy planning, helping students develop strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making skills. Students can participate in government management agencies, private enterprises or research organizations to analyze and optimize economic policies.

Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council of the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Truc Le said that the explosion of digital transformation globally is one of the main driving forces promoting human resource training in the field of digital economy. Technology platforms such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, e-commerce... are gradually changing the way businesses operate.
In Vietnam, the Government is also promoting the national digital transformation program with the goal of making the digital economy an important pillar of the economy. This has led to an increasing demand for human resources with expertise in this field, forcing universities to update their training programs to suit the new context.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Truc Le, one of the differences of the digital economy is the way the economy operates. Therefore, training programs focus on helping students understand and apply digital technology to modern business models.
Notably, the school will have a team of lecturers who are businessmen, lecturers of the school and experts, leaders from a number of public organizations, non-governmental organizations to teach, in order to provide practical experiences for students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Planning (Ministry of Education and Training) Dong Xuan Truong supported the trend of schools opening new majors, which is in line with the times and meets the needs of the labor market in society.
In addition to developing new training programs, schools need to have in-depth investment in building lectures and curriculum frameworks; have policies to attract lecturers; invest in facilities to meet the requirements of learners and the needs of organizations and businesses; ensure output standards in the digital transformation era, in line with the orientations of the Party and State in the new context, Deputy Director of the Department Dong Xuan Truong suggested.
