Celebrating 75 years of World Meteorological Day

On the morning of March 23, the Ha Giang Hydrometeorological Station celebrated the 75th anniversary of World Meteorological Day and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Ha Giang Hydrometeorological Association (March 23, 2010 - March 23, 2025). Attending the celebration were leaders of the Northern Mountainous Region Hydrometeorological Station and a number of agencies and units of the province.

The World Meteorological Organization has chosen the theme of "Joining hands for a comprehensive early warning system" for World Meteorological Day (March 23) in 2025. This message calls on countries around the world to strengthen national capacity and promote cooperation at all levels, ensuring that the early warning system operates effectively from the global to the local scale, contributing to shortening the gap in forecasting and warning of natural disasters, helping policy makers focus on risk reduction, protecting communities, making it easy for communities to access and proactively take early action, contributing to protecting the fruits of people's labor and production, building a safe and sustainable world against natural disasters. For the Ha Giang Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, in response to World Meteorological Day, many solutions have been implemented to improve the quality of weather forecasts, forecasts and warnings of natural disasters, contributing to serving the socio-economic development tasks of the locality. Accordingly, the Station has effectively maintained 5 Meteorological Stations, 5 Hydrological Stations, 14 automatic rain gauges. At the same time, it has well performed monitoring, measuring, collecting, storing, and processing data to serve the forecasting, warning of rain, storms, floods and timely transmitting information to the Regional Station as well as information to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue at all levels.

At the celebration, leaders of the Northern Mountainous Region Hydrometeorological Station and Ha Giang Hydrometeorological Station disseminated the message of World Meteorological Day. Thereby, the message of "Joining hands for a comprehensive early warning system" was widely disseminated effectively, while helping those working in hydrometeorological observation, measurement, forecasting and warning to be more proud, attached and strengthen their love, enthusiasm for the industry and responsibility to society./.
