First forest fire of dry season 2024-2025

News from Khanh Binh Tay Bac commune (Tran Van Thoi district) this afternoon (March 23), the forest fire that just occurred in the area was caused by burning fields, causing the fire to spread.

Accordingly, the forest fire occurred at 2:00 p.m. yesterday (March 22, 2025), on the west bank of Canal Dao, Hamlet 3. This is the forest land area assigned to households.

When the incident occurred, there were 6 generators, including: 3 generators in Khanh Binh Tay Bac commune, 2 generators in the National Park, 1 generator in Khanh Binh Tay commune, along with about 70 cadres, militia, and local people participating in fire fighting.

By 4:20 p.m., the fire was under control and prevented from spreading. The fire damaged nearly 1 hectare of 5-6 year old forest belonging to 3 households in the area.

After extinguishing the fire, the forces assigned people to stand guard and put it out.

This is considered the first forest fire of the 2024-2025 dry season as the prolonged hot weather in recent days has rapidly increased the area of ​​forest at risk of fire.
