On June 9, speaking to the press, Mr. Do Ngoc My, Principal of Quy Nhon University (Binh Dinh province), confirmed that the school had just posted an apology letter on the Quy Nhon University Admissions Fanpage.
The apology letter mentioned the mistake and lack of standards in replying to admission messages of Quy Nhon University admissions staff when students texted and inquired.
"Considering that the actions of the school staff in this case were wrong and went beyond the limits of a specialized consulting department, Quy Nhon University would like to send its most sincere and deepest apologies to all readers, students, pupils... for being affected by the negative information spreading on social networks," reads an excerpt from the apology letter.
On the evening of June 8 and morning of June 9, Facebook posted a lot of information and images related to a conversation between a student and an employee of Quy Nhon University Admissions Fanpage (belonging to Quy Nhon University).
Information shared about the student's dissatisfaction after texting to find out about Quy Nhon University's admission information. Specifically, when this student texted at 12:52: " Does our school consider direct admission for students with IELTS 6.5 for non-specialized schools? " However, the answer received from the admissions staff surprised this student: "Don't you think the teachers need to rest at this time?" .
However, this student still texted back an apology, but continued to receive another message from the Quy Nhon University Admissions Fanpage: "You are a student at a specialized school but don't know how to think about others?"

At this time, the student texted back that he just wanted to learn about admission information, and if the staff was busy, he could reply at another time because this was just a text message. However, the school staff continued to argue and said that the student had "hurt" the school's teachers...
After reading the information and conversation above, the online community and the student community in Binh Dinh were extremely outraged by the attitude and response from the admissions staff of Quy Nhon University. Explaining the above incident, Mr. Do Ngoc My said that the school admissions staff's response was tactless and not in line with the school's behavioral culture. Regarding the student's response, Mr. My said it was appropriate.
"We have identified the employee who replied to the above message and are verifying it to take appropriate action depending on the severity... Also because the student texted at the exact time the admissions consultant was having lunch, there were some tactless words," said Mr. Do Ngoc My.
