Famous for her videos recording her personal life in China, when her fan base increased, Hang Du Muc quickly seized the opportunity and sold products live-streamed, achieving great success in bringing Xinjiang red apples closer to Vietnamese customers. In the picture, she and many others are introducing bird's nest products.

Hang Du Muc livestreamed confidently about the product, but when the customer reacted, he apologized for... a mistake.

Hang Du Muc (real name Nguyen Thi Thai Hang) is a name that has received great attention from the online community recently, with 6 million followers on her personal Facebook and TikTok platforms.

Recently, she has been criticized by a series of customers, fans and even people with experience in the bird's nest industry for advertising excessively and untruthfully. Specifically, in a recent livestream to sell products on TikTok, she held a 70ml jar of bird's nest and said it contained up to 30g of fresh bird's nest.

Soon after, someone went online to prove that a jar of bird's nest of the above capacity can normally only hold 10g of fresh bird's nest that has been steamed and expanded. If you put up to 30g of fresh bird's nest, it will not be cooked and will not absorb water - you can steam it in a large bowl to enjoy.

In response to the large-scale reaction, in order to ensure industry transparency, protect consumer rights and help businesses maintain product quality standards, recently, representatives of the Vietnam Bird's Nest Association worked directly with Hang Du Muc.

Accordingly, Hang Du Muc said there was a mistake, then explained that: During the livestream sales process, she asked her team to convert the parameter of 300mg of bird's nest content, and was informed to 30g of A5 bird's nest for production. Because she did not react in time and said the same thing, it led to the mistake.

Through the incident, Hang said: "I take responsibility for this mistake and I myself realize that this has greatly affected the Vietnamese bird's nest industry. I would like to send my sincere apologies to those working in the bird's nest industry and the Vietnam Bird's Nest Association in particular and all customers in general."

On her personal Facebook page with more than 1.1 million followers, she also considered the incident a valuable lesson, reminding customers to always be serious and careful in every word. In case customers are not satisfied, she and her team are ready to agree to return or refund the customer.

Sisters of the Basket Group Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Cer Group) was founded by Hang Du Muc, Pham Quang Linh (Quang Linh Vlogs) and some close relatives, and has been operating for less than half a year.

Immediately after its establishment, the company continuously advertised its Kera product - introduced as a vegetable candy that supplements nutrition and fiber, suitable for busy adults, children with poor appetite and those who do not like to eat vegetables.

Notably, in a recent livestream sales session, Quang Linh Vlogs affirmed: "This vegetable candy, everyone, will correspond to a plate of boiled vegetables that people often eat every day."

After being criticized for exaggerating the advertisement, Quang Linh Vlogs spoke up on Facebook: "First of all, Linh is very sorry for conveying inaccurate information that "1 pill is equivalent to 1 plate of vegetables", causing misunderstanding to customers in the past." At the same time, he affirmed that his team did not say similar words afterwards, so he did not intentionally advertise exaggerating.

Prohibit false and misleading advertising

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , lawyer Tran Minh Hung (Ho Chi Minh City Bar Association) said that advertising incorrectly or causing confusion about the quantity, quality, uses... of products, goods, and services is a prohibited act under the Advertising Law.

Pursuant to Article 16 of the Law on Advertising, customers have the right to compensation for damages when products, goods and services do not meet standards, technical regulations, quality, quantity, features, uses, prices or other content that organizations and individuals have advertised; To denounce and initiate civil lawsuits according to the provisions of law.

Those who commit false advertising may be fined from 60 to 80 million VND (according to Decree No. 38/2021, amended and supplemented by Decree No. 129/2021 and Decree No. 128/2022 of the Government). In cases where there are sufficient elements to constitute a crime, criminal liability may be prosecuted.

Lawyer Tran Minh Hung also emphasized the need to be careful with advertisements from celebrities, to verify from many different parties, and to avoid believing them completely. Because if you are involved in a case where "a celebrity advertises, promotes, and communicates a product that is not true, only for personal benefit, not for the community, not for society, it is very dangerous".
