When love spreads

(QBĐT) - "Tet nhan hoa" - a movement launched by the provincial Red Cross Society (RCS) has become a "bridge" of love, bringing thousands of families in special circumstances a warm and complete Tet, helping them feel more deeply the traditional Tet atmosphere of the nation.

Community together

Right from the beginning, the Provincial Red Cross Association proactively developed a detailed plan, calling for the support of all levels of associations, local authorities and social organizations. The joint efforts of organizations, individuals and units have created meaningful activities, such as: "Charitable Tet Market", free medical examination, giving bus tickets to poor students to return home for Tet, giving scholarships to students overcoming difficulties...

All these activities bring profound spiritual values, contributing to warming the lives of those in difficult circumstances during the coming of Tet and spring. Each gift, each scholarship, each free bus ride has partly shared the difficulties and conveyed the message of sharing, of the spirit of “mutual love and support”, the values that have created the identity and strength of the nation.

The Red Cross Associations of districts, towns and cities have responded to the movement in many diverse ways. Units have organized exchanges, visited and given gifts to encourage officers and soldiers of the Border Guard and forces on duty to protect Tet. Activities such as: Free medical examination, giving gifts to poor households, policy families or practical gifts such as new clothes, shoes... for people in difficult circumstances all bring joy and warmth to the recipients.

The Red Cross Association of its affiliated units has also mobilized resources to effectively implement many gifts to encourage poor families, students and students in difficult circumstances to overcome difficulties and study well. Chairman of the Red Cross Association of Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Le Anh Vu, shared: “We have called for contributions from staff, teachers and students of the school to build a fund, from which to organize many charitable Tet activities in the localities. Our wish is to help people in difficult circumstances have a warm Tet, and at the same time educate students about compassion, awareness of social and community activities”. Many units also organize cultural spaces to prepare for a joyful and warm Tet, in order to spread the good cultural traditions of local people.

Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Association Phan Van Cau said: “It is impossible not to mention the companionship of organizations, businesses and philanthropists in the success of the charitable Tet. The Provincial Red Cross Association directly mobilized 3,410 gifts, worth 2.68 billion VND. The associations at all levels and affiliated clubs mobilized nearly 21,200 gifts, worth 11.35 billion VND”. The contributions of large units and businesses, such as: Hanoi Red Cross Association, Dong Hoi Airport, Quang Binh Business Club in Da Nang City, Prudential Life Insurance Company... along with the silent contributions from individuals have contributed to making a more complete Tet season for the less fortunate.

Warm Tet

This year, “Humanitarian Tet” has been widely deployed in many of the most difficult areas of the province. In the mountainous commune of Thuong Trach (Bo Trach), the program “Border Spring - Warming the hearts of the villagers” has delivered hundreds of gifts to the people. In Trong Hoa commune (Minh Hoa), the program has helped many poor households have a more decent and cozy Tet. During the “Humanitarian Tet Market” sessions, many poor people received meaningful Tet gifts and had the opportunity to choose their own necessary gifts, from food to clothes and household items. The joyful and exciting atmosphere at the markets is a testament to the humanity and creativity in the organization of this year’s movement.

Among the tens of thousands of gifts given, there are stories that touched our hearts. The family of Mr. Le Van Dung in Lien Thuy commune (Le Thuy) is a particularly disadvantaged group in the locality. He and his eldest daughter are blind, and his wife is also disabled. When receiving the Tet gift from the Red Cross Society, he emotionally said: "For my family, this gift is not only material support, but also a great source of spiritual encouragement, helping us have more faith in the future."

With the joint efforts of many charitable organizations and individuals, the "Charitable Tet" 2025 movement has mobilized nearly 24,600 gifts, with a total value of up to 14.03 billion VND, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and sharing that is spreading strongly in the community.

There are many other difficult situations that also receive attention and sharing from the community. The gifts, though small, contain warm human affection, and are timely sharing to help them overcome difficult days. It could be a new set of clothes for a poor child, a box of instant noodles for a lonely old person, or a few kilos of rice for a family that does not have a full Tet. These practical actions have brought joy and ignited hope for a better life.

According to Mr. Phan Van Cau, the success of this year's movement has exceeded all expectations. Compared to the target assigned by the Central Government, the results have exceeded nearly 16,200 gifts, equivalent to 10.03 billion VND. Compared to the plan set by the province, it has exceeded nearly 15,600 gifts, equivalent to 9.52 billion VND. That number is proof of the strong connection between charitable organizations and individuals and the disadvantaged, and is also the motivation for the Red Cross Society to continue implementing more sustainable humanitarian programs in the future.

Meaningful gifts are still given and everyone feels that: Spring is not only an occasion for reunion, but also an opportunity to share love, creating a close-knit and warm community.
