Discovering a reticulated python, a large, long, 7 kg wild animal, wandering into his house, Bach Van Lac in Hue captured it, contacted and then handed it over to Phu Loc forest rangers.
On March 23, the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department (Hue City) said that on March 22, the agency received a reticulated python, a rare wild animal, that was caught by local people and voluntarily handed over.

The rare wild animal received by Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department is a 7 kg reticulated python in normal health condition.
The person who handed over the python was old farmer Bach Van Lac (residing in Loc Bon commune, Phu Loc district).
According to Mr. Bach Van Lac, this python had previously wandered into his family's residence. Knowing that this was a rare wild animal, Mr. Lac captured it and contacted the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department to release it back into the wild.
After receiving it, Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department is taking care of and raising the reticulated python while waiting for completion of required procedures to release it into the natural environment in accordance with the law.
The reticulated python has the scientific name Python reticulatus, belonging to the List of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals, group IIB, as stipulated in Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated September 22, 2021 of the Government on amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree 06/2019/ND-CP dated January 22, 2019 of the Government on management of endangered, precious, and rare forest plants and animals.
