Training new soldiers at Brigade 573

In 2025, Brigade 573 (Military Region 5, stationed in Nhon Hoa Ward, An Nhon Town) received and trained more than 230 new soldiers (CSM) from the two provinces of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai. To effectively carry out the CSM training mission, the Brigade established a provisional Battalion (Battalion 4) and completed 2 subordinate Companies (Companies 10 and 11, stationed in Phuoc Hiep Commune, Tuy Phuoc District). The training content has been and is being deployed by the Brigade according to the correct plan, with sufficient content, ensuring the prescribed time.

In March, when we arrived at the training ground of Battalion 4, we witnessed CSMs seriously practicing AK submachine gun shooting. The platoon leaders closely guided, corrected, and guided each movement to help the soldiers complete the training program. The faces of the new recruits who had just joined the army and were still confused, now all looked strong, confident, healthy, and gradually got used to the regime, discipline, and living and studying time. Private Chieu Van Kim (Squad 5, Platoon 2, Company 11) shared: "From the initial strangeness and confusion, I am now mentally secure, have a good grasp of the task, and am determined to strive for high results in the 3 months of training."

To achieve the best results in CSM training and complete the assigned political tasks, Brigade 573 has prepared 12 training grounds, including 5 new ones; consolidated and renewed more than 240 targets of various types, nearly 1,620 teaching aids; and ensured that the training curriculum is rigorous and suitable to the unit's reality.

In CSM management and training, ideological work is identified by the Brigade as one of the important factors determining the quality and results of training and practice. The Brigade's CSM training units also closely grasp the ideological situation to effectively address the thoughts and aspirations of soldiers.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Huu Tho, Political Commissar of Battalion 4, said: "We activated working groups and teams, especially the Protection Soldier Group, to help commanders at all levels receive information on all issues of soldiers in the unit."

In March, the Brigade directed the grassroots Youth Union to effectively organize mass activities, entertainment, cultural, artistic and sports activities for soldiers to participate in, creating a healthy atmosphere and cultural environment to eliminate negative public opinion. Up to now, 100% of CSMs have been tested in the first month of training and have grasped the basic contents of infantry combat techniques, Brigade traditions, learned 4 physical exercises, combat martial arts, strictly followed the etiquette and manners of soldiers.
