(HQ Online) - Mong Cai City People's Committee has just piloted the flow of tourists using passports and entry and exit books through Mong Cai international border gate in the Bac Luan 2 bridge area every Saturday and Sunday.

Based on the agreement between the People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) and the correspondence between the Department of Commerce and Border Gate Management of Dongxing City (China), from December 11, 2023, visitors using passports and official border tourist passes are allowed to clear customs through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Beilun Bridge II Area). Customs clearance time is from 8:00 to 15:00 Hanoi time (ie from 9:00 to 16:00 Beijing time).
On March 19, 2024, at the meeting "Evaluating the results of immigration activities through Mong Cai International Border Gate, Bac Luan Bridge II area from November 2023 to present" chaired by Mong Cai City People's Committee, it was agreed to pilot the flow of tourists using passports and entry and exit books through Bac Luan Bridge II customs clearance on Saturdays and Sundays every week, while the remaining days of the week still carry out normal immigration activities at Mong Cai International Border Gate, Bac Luan Bridge I and Bac Luan Bridge II according to regulations. The pilot period is from March 20, 2024 to the end of April 2024.
To ensure conditions for customs clearance for passengers through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II Bridge Area), Mong Cai Border Gate Customs Branch, Quang Ninh Customs Department has proactively coordinated with functional forces of the border gate block to effectively carry out traffic separation, fully arrange forces and equipment, ensure security and order, and create the most favorable conditions for citizens of the two countries when carrying out immigration procedures through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II Bridge Area).
According to Mr. Hoang Van Luyen, representative of TOT International Travel Company Limited, passengers entering and exiting the country were extremely excited to experience the electric car service through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II Bridge Area), the functional forces of the border gate block created all conditions for the company, as well as passengers to carry out immigration procedures quickly.
After China relaxed its policies after a long period of implementing “Zero Covid”, the number of visitors entering and exiting through the Mong Cai - Dong Hung border gate pair has increased. Therefore, promoting the entry and exit function through Mong Cai International Border Gate (Bac Luan II Bridge Area) will contribute to promoting tourism activities between Vietnam and China.
On the morning of March 23, 2024, the first day of the pilot implementation, more than 400 passengers completed exit procedures through Bac Luan II border gate.
