In Quang Tri, taking advantage of the rugged, difficult and complicated border situation, people illegally transport drugs, especially in Huong Hoa and Dakrong districts where residents on both sides of the border have family relationships. These are areas with a system of trails, openings and border rivers that are very convenient for people to illegally transport goods across the border.
“The success of the 100kg methamphetamine bust by the Customs, Border Guard, and Police forces demonstrates the spirit of effective coordination in identifying key subjects, collecting information domestically and internationally, especially the role of coordination in the fight between functional forces in the area in a very methodical and professional manner,” the Deputy Director General further emphasized.
In the coming time, it is forecasted that the drug crime situation will continue to develop complicatedly, with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks, fiercely fighting back and dealing with the authorities.
Deputy Director General Hoang Viet Cuong requested that the Customs, Police and Border Guard forces in the area continue to maintain their leading role in this work, always identifying Quang Tri as a "hot" and complicated area for drug crimes.
On the other hand, faced with the constantly changing methods and tricks of the subjects, the forces continue to innovate their methods of struggle.
The Deputy Director General hopes that the functional forces will continue to promote their achievements and continue to coordinate well to create a combined strength in the fight against drugs.
At the same time, continue to propagate and educate people in border areas to raise their sense of responsibility, not to assist criminals; have solutions to improve the lives of people in border areas; strictly and thoroughly handle cases to create deterrence in the whole society.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the units, Director of Quang Tri Customs Department Tran Manh Cuong said that the above results were achieved thanks to the attention, leadership and direction of the Ministry of Finance, the General Department of Customs; the active coordination of functional forces: Police, Border Guard; the efforts, striving, and determined fighting spirit of the collective leadership, civil servants, especially the customs control force of Quang Tri Customs Department.
Director Tran Manh Cuong also hopes to continue receiving the attention and close leadership of the General Department of Customs and the effective and smooth coordination of functional forces in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and drug prevention, contributing to protecting national interests and sovereignty and developing the local economy and society.
