The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a Plan to select and honor the City's outstanding literary and artistic works towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The selection and commendation of typical literary and artistic works of the City is organized to honor and commend typical literary and artistic works of high value, effectively contributing to the development of literature and art in the 50-year journey of building and developing the City; recognizing creative efforts and achievements, at the same time encouraging and motivating artists to continue to promote dynamism, creativity, continue to compose, work, and contribute in many forms, creating many valuable works of art, meeting the development requirements of Ho Chi Minh City in the coming time.

The work of organizing, promoting and widely introducing literary and artistic works with high artistic value in the past 50 years will help spread the good values of literary and artistic activities and typical works, carried out through propaganda forms, performance activities, and appropriate artistic forms, to popularize and replicate typical works in social life.
The specialized councils nominated outstanding works in all fields: Literature, Music, Theater, Dance, Cinema, Photography, Fine Arts, Architecture, Literature and Arts of Ethnic Minorities. These are literary and artistic works composed and published from April 30, 1975 to December 31, 2023, achieving quality in terms of ideological value, artistry, and themes praising the glorious and heroic tradition of struggle; the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City; praising the life and people of the civilized, modern, and affectionate City.

At the end of February 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City established the website "50 outstanding literary and artistic works loved by the people", so that people can participate in voting for outstanding literary and artistic works, as a basis for the City Council to vote for 50 outstanding literary and artistic works in all fields of culture and arts.
