According to statistics as of October 30, 2024, Quang Ngai province still has 51 fishing boats that have not installed VMS equipment and are currently on shore, anchored, and operating outside the province for many years but have not returned to the locality.
Specifically, the above fishing boats are currently in Hai Phong City (1 vehicle); Nam Dinh Province (11 vehicles); Thanh Hoa Province (1 vehicle); Nghe An Province (1 vehicle); Quang Binh Province (2 vehicles); Thua Thien Hue Province (2 vehicles); Da Nang City (23 vehicles); Quang Nam Province (1 vehicle); Binh Thuan Province (3 vehicles); Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province (2 vehicles) and 4 ships with undetermined locations.
To strengthen the management of fishing vessels, strictly handle violations in installing VMS equipment, and prepare well for the working session with the 5th European Commission (EC) Inspection Delegation, Quang Ngai authorities requested the above 10 provinces and cities to support and strictly handle these vehicles.

Specifically, Quang Ngai province requested the People's Committees of Hai Phong City, Da Nang City and the provinces of Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau to direct relevant agencies and localities to strictly inspect and control the anchoring positions of Quang Ngai fishing boats that have not installed VMS equipment.

Do not allow these fishing vessels (not yet installed with VMS) to leave port to operate at sea; coordinate to strictly handle according to legal regulations and send verification and handling results to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province (through the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai) before November 20, 2024.
