The VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park infrastructure investment and business project with a total investment capital of nearly VND3,800 billion is expected to start construction on March 12.

Quang Ngai provincial leaders said that the locality is coordinating with VSIP Quang Ngai Company Limited to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park on the morning of March 12, in Binh Hiep commune, Binh Son district (belonging to Dung Quat Economic Zone).

Accordingly, the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Investment Project, Phase 1, was approved by the Prime Minister in late December 2023; with a scale of nearly 500 hectares, a total investment of nearly VND 3,800 billion, and an operating period of 50 years.

The project is implemented in two communes, Binh Thanh (289 ha) and Binh Hiep (209 ha), Binh Son district, with one side bordering National Highway 1. The project site is mainly agricultural land, rural residential land... about 130 households will have to move to make way for the project. The expected construction period is 60 months.

According to the plan, VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park includes main items such as: Service works area, production works, warehouses, technical infrastructure... The project will develop multi-industry, high-tech, environmentally friendly industry associated with urban - support service areas. Priority industries to attract investment include: Automobile manufacturing, textiles, food processing, beverages, processing, manufacturing...

A representative of VSIP Quang Ngai said that, up to now, VSIP Quang Ngai has attracted 44 projects with a total foreign direct investment capital of nearly 1.5 billion USD from countries/territories: USA, Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Belgium, China... creating about 40,000 jobs for local workers.

“The project aims to develop an industrial park associated with green growth and sustainable development, continuing to attract investors in industries applying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in production and business activities such as electricity - electronics, precision mechanics, food processing, textiles, medical equipment, furniture and other supporting industries,” said a representative of VSIP Quang Ngai.

It is expected that after completion, VSIP II Quang Ngai will create jobs for about 50,000 workers. In the next development phase, along with the orientation of VSIP Group, VSIP II Quang Ngai is committed to continuing to prioritize the use of green energy, renewable energy and applying 4.0 technology in monitoring industrial park operations, becoming a reliable destination for investors, contributing to the overall socio-economic development of Quang Ngai province.

VSIP II Quang Ngai commits to join hands with investors to implement environmental protection measures, contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, towards the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, encourage investors to use renewable energy, high technology in the direction of long-term and sustainable development, and gradually modernize industry.
