On the morning of December 9, the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital of Quang Ngai province announced that the health of nearly 30 students of Tran Van Tra Primary School (Quang Ngai City, Quang Ngai Province) who were poisoned after drinking milk and eating jelly is currently stable, with no serious complications. Within 24 hours, the stable children will be discharged from the hospital.
On the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ngai City (Quang Ngai Province) said that currently in the city, there is a phenomenon of strangers coming to school gates to distribute food of unknown origin, causing food poisoning to students. The situation of food safety and hygiene is very complicated but the lack of inspection and management by authorities affects the health of students.
Therefore, this agency requires educational institutions in the area to promote food safety and street food safety at flag-raising ceremonies at the beginning of the week, extracurricular activities... In particular, students are not allowed to buy or eat food of unknown origin in school.
In addition, schools need to coordinate with relevant agencies, units, police, and local authorities to organize the handling of locations selling food of unknown origin inside and outside schools... Be vigilant against subjects distributing food of unknown origin.
Previously, on December 8, Ms. NTLT (29 years old, residing in Tinh Long commune), a marketing employee of N. brand milk products, brought 19 cartons of milk and a bag of 50 fruit jelly packages to Tran Van Tra Primary School to give to students.
After drinking milk and eating fruit jelly, nearly 30 students of the school showed signs of stomachache and nausea and were taken to the emergency room at the Quang Ngai Province Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital.
