The wives of the Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Singapore experience making fabric mosaics at Vun Art

At Vun Art, the wife of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Ms. Le Thi Bich Tran and the wife of the Prime Minister of Singapore, Ms. Ha Tinh, experienced making a mosaic of Singapore's iconic lion, while the wife of the Prime Minister of Singapore made a mosaic of Vietnam's Ha Long Bay.
On the afternoon of August 28, Ms. Le Thi Bich Tran, wife of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Ms. Ha Tinh, wife of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited Vun Art Cooperative (Van Phuc, Ha Dong, Hanoi) and experienced making fabric collages.
Vun Art is a collective economic model that creates impact, founded in 2017 by Mr. Le Viet Cuong - a person with a physical disability. Vun Art Cooperative was established with the desire to preserve and introduce traditional culture, create jobs for people with disabilities and utilize excess materials in the production process to protect the environment.
At Vun Art, craftsmen reuse special Van Phuc silk scraps, along with skillful hands and diligence, creativity to create unique, colorful and artistic products.
Visiting Vun Art, the two ladies toured the production facility, where craftsmen create unique products to introduce to the public.
Craftsmen introduce the painting of Uncle Ho in the process of completion. The two ladies were extremely impressed with the meticulousness and perseverance of the craftsmen in the process of creating the work.
After visiting the production facility and hearing about the product manufacturing process, the two ladies experienced making a fabric mosaic under the guidance of Vun Art members.
Madam Le Thi Bich Tran collaged a picture of the lion, the symbol of Singapore.
And Mrs. Ha Tinh collaged a picture of Vietnam's Ha Long Bay.
Craftsmen of Vun Art together assembled a painting adapted from the idea of the Pham Le Tran Chinh orchid (a new orchid species in Singapore named after the combination of the names of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife Le Thi Bich Tran).
Ms. Ha Tinh excitedly shared the newly produced product with Ms. Le Thi Bich Tran.
The two ladies gave each other the finished product.
Representative of Vun Art presented an orchid painting to the wife of Singapore Prime Minister, Mrs. Ha Tinh.
After visiting and experiencing the painting process, the two ladies shared their appreciation for the works created by the disabled craftsmen of Vun Art. Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran and Mrs. Ha Tinh said that the perseverance and efforts in creating each product of Vun Art represent the will, determination, spirit of overcoming difficulties, integrating with the community and making positive contributions to society of the craftsmen here.
In particular, the use of scraps to create, towards the sustainable business development model of Vun Art has contributed to environmental protection. "You have contributed to saving this Earth", said the wife of the Prime Minister of Singapore. The two ladies shared the view that "a great journey begins with small steps" and the craftsmen at Vun Art are the ones who have created inspiration and great motivation for many people in our society.
The two ladies hope that Vun Art will continue to grow, inspiring and helping more people who are still in difficult circumstances today.
