The National Tourism Year returns to Hue for the second time, at a time when the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups here are honored and proud when Thua Thien Hue province officially becomes a city directly under the Central Government. Minister Nguyen Van Hung said: In the first quarter of 2025, Vietnam tourism welcomed over 4 million international visitors, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2024; served nearly 30 million domestic visitors, with tourism revenue estimated at nearly 200 trillion VND. This is a positive signal, affirming Vietnam's attractiveness on the world tourism map.

To achieve the Government's target of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors and serving 120-130 million domestic tourists by 2025; making Vietnam an attractive destination for international cultural, sports and tourism exchanges; contributing to the successful implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Plan with a growth target of 8% or more, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been and will be proactively coordinating regularly and closely with ministries, branches, Hue City and provinces, cities, and the business community.

Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh suggested that in the coming time, the tourism industry needs to thoroughly grasp the direction of the Prime Minister in Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024 on comprehensive, fast and sustainable tourism development with the motto "Unique products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Reasonable prices - Clean and beautiful environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destinations".

The opening ceremony of the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 was held at the semi-realistic stage along the poetic Huong River, attracting more than 5,000 spectators. After the opening performance "The colorful night of Huong River", the art program with the theme "Love confession of the river" took the audience to explore the lands rich in cultural identity of Vietnam.

The first is the Perfume River, which carries many cultural sediments associated with the capital of Hue and has developed over time.
