Recently, the prestigious Time magazine announced the list of the 100 best destinations in the world in 2025. In which, the first metro line of Ho Chi Minh City was honored to become the only representative of Vietnam to appear in this prestigious ranking.

This is the 7th year the magazine has published a list of ideal destinations with the following criteria: Relevance, Impact, Innovation and Success.

This list includes 100 selected locations from around the world, in many different categories such as hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruises, attractions...

Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien) of Ho Chi Minh City is one of 21 destinations in Asia selected by Time , affirming the attraction of this modern transportation system to international tourists.

According to Time , this metro line is “a great achievement” for Vietnam’s largest city. This project is not only an important step forward in the city’s transport infrastructure but also opens up new opportunities for tourists to explore.

Metro Line 1 has a total length of 19.7km, connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with Thu Duc City, including 14 stops. This system helps residents and tourists easily travel to prominent locations such as Ben Thanh Market, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, City Theater and other bustling areas.

Time describes this metro system as modern, fast and capable of reducing traffic congestion and environmental pollution. Not only improving the quality of life for residents, the metro line also helps tourists have a more convenient and comfortable experience when exploring this dynamic city.

Other locations in neighboring countries such as L*SNOW ski resort (Shanghai), Nipponia Hotel and Nintendo Museum (Japan), Beijing Library (China)... also appear on this list.

The fact that Ho Chi Minh City's metro line was honored in Time 's list along with famous places in other countries around the world is an important milestone, demonstrating the city's strong transformation in developing urban infrastructure, towards a modern economic and tourism center.

This is also a great pride of Vietnam on the world tourism map, especially in the context of the country's efforts to improve infrastructure and attract international tourists.
