On October 1, information from the People's Committee of Mong Cai City said that local authorities are investigating the case of a female student being run over by a parent driving a car into the middle of the school yard.
Female student was run over by her parent driving into school
According to initial information, at around 12 noon on October 1, many students were shocked to witness a female student being run over by a car, right in the middle of the schoolyard.
Through investigation by the authorities, during the above time, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh (47 years old, residing in Zone 2, Ka Long Ward, Mong Cai City) was driving a car with license plate 14A - 047.85 and crashed into a female student riding an electric bicycle.
Immediately after the incident, many male students ran to the scene, lifted the car up to rescue their friend who was trapped under it.
The female student was then taken to the Mong Cai City Medical Center for emergency treatment. At the hospital, the female student was examined and only suffered scratches on her skin.
Parents drove their car into the school yard and hit a female student.
Upon receiving the information, the People's Committee of Mong Cai City requested the school to report and strictly handle the incident. Currently, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh is negotiating her responsibility for the incident with the female student.
The school representative said that the unit will discipline parents as well as maintain order to avoid unfortunate incidents. According to school regulations, during school hours, vehicles are not allowed to enter the school.
