On the evening of April 28, at Thong Nhat Square, Hai Duong City held the opening ceremony of Bach Dang walking street - night market.
Attending the opening ceremony were Party Central Committee members: Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Union; Tran Duc Thang, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
Also attending were comrades: Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Le Van Hieu, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee.
Also attending the ceremony were representatives of departments, branches and sectors; leaders of socio-political organizations, unions, districts, cities and towns in the province, twinned localities, along with a large number of tourists and local people.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Trieu The Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed: The pilot organization of the walking street - Bach Dang night market in Hai Duong city is a very meaningful event, contributing to creating cultural and artistic products, a place for people to have fun and entertainment; stimulating consumption and shopping needs to develop trade and services.
In order for the walking street - night market to maintain effective operation and continue to expand in the coming time, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trieu The Hung emphasized the need for support from the people and comments from tourists so that Hai Duong city can improve the quality of cultural, artistic and culinary services on the walking street to become more attractive.
At the same time, continue to complete urban design, pay attention to investment, attract socialization to upgrade and embellish the landscape, create many unique cultural and culinary exchange events to ensure compliance with current legal regulations and the city's development orientation according to the Resolution of the 17th Hai Duong Provincial Party Congress.
The Bach Dang walking street and night market has the theme of "Convergence of Essence - Brightening up Thanh Dong" and is held from 4pm on Saturday and ends before midnight on Sunday every week. The scale of the street uses the entire area of Thong Nhat Square, half of Bach Dang Street and half of Bui Thi Xuan Street on the river side, Chuong Duong Street and Hong Quang Bridge.
The street is divided into 4 sub-areas named after the four sacred animals dragon, unicorn, turtle and phoenix, symbolizing outstanding celebrities associated with the East. The dragon sub-area is symbolized by the famous general Tran Hung Dao. The unicorn area recalls the politician Nguyen Trai. The turtle area builds the image of the two founders Phap Loa and Huyen Quang. The phoenix area is symbolized by the eternal teacher Chu Van An. The dragon area has 15 stalls, the unicorn area has 12 stalls, the turtle area has 8 stalls, and the phoenix area has 10 stalls. The stalls will sell regional specialties, OCOP products, and have a strong street food character.
Coming to the walking street and night market in Hai Duong city, visitors will be immersed in the vibrant, joyful atmosphere with colorful spaces of art performances, traditions, handicraft products and typical dishes of Eastern culinary culture. Every month, at Thong Nhat Square stage, there will be 2 large-scale art performances. In the areas interspersed between the dragon and unicorn zones, there are 2 street art performance spots, contemporary art, folk art, and outdoor activity venues. Experiential activities, folk games, and book reading spots are arranged in the quy zone. In the phuong zone, there is 1 art spot to serve the people.
Around Bach Dang River, there will be artistic lighting displays using colorful LED lights, creating a brilliant space. In addition, clusters of lotus flowers lit by lights will be installed on the river surface, creating a highlight in the middle of the river./.
