On the evening of April 12, at the Thay Pagoda National Special Relic Site (Sai Son Commune, Quoc Oai District, Hanoi), the People's Committee of Quoc Oai District held a ceremony to receive the title of National Intangible Cultural Heritage and opened the Thay Pagoda Festival, as well as opening the Quoc Oai Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week 2024.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong presented the Certificate of recognition of the traditional festival of Thay Pagoda, Sai Son Commune, Quoc Oai District as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Quoc Oai district is known as the cradle of the culture of the Doai region, where many types of intangible culture are preserved such as: Do singing, Ham Rong singing, Tuong singing, Cheo singing, Muong singing... Thay Pagoda Festival is the pride of the people of Quoc Oai, held from the 5th to the 7th of March. The festival has many unique and special traditional rituals practiced such as: Opening ceremony, bathing ceremony, offering ceremony, offering ceremony to place the altar, opening ceremony and carrying the offerings of the villages to the Ca Pagoda...
The festival has a religious and spiritual nature combined with unique cultural heritage, attracting the participation of many people to explore regional cultures.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Quoc Oai District People's Committee Nguyen Truong Son emphasized: This is a series of important political and cultural events of Quoc Oai District, contributing to mobilizing the strength of the entire people, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people. The program is organized with the purpose of honoring cultural values, traditional festivals, preserving, embellishing and promoting the value of intangible cultural heritages in Quoc Oai District; gradually exploiting the potential and cultural and artistic values of the Thay Pagoda National Special Relic Complex in the direction of developing historical and cultural tourism.
At the same time, this is also an opportunity to widely propagate to a large number of cadres, party members, and people of all walks of life to raise awareness and deep understanding of the meaning, value, and importance of the national intangible cultural heritage of Thay Pagoda Festival in social life; thereby educating political ideology, patriotism, arousing revolutionary heroism, the spirit of great solidarity, patriotism, pride, and the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant.
At the ceremony, locals and tourists enjoyed the art program "Quoc Oai - Unleashing Heritage" with many unique art performances, such as: Tuong singing, Cheo singing, gong performances, puppetry... The performances were all carefully prepared, containing great values about the history, culture and people of Quoc Oai...

In particular, at the opening ceremony, locals and visitors enjoyed the Drone light art performance - a flycam performance combining the light of 200 drones. The typical symbols of Quoc Oai homeland, such as Quoc Oai map, the image of the water temple, cultural heritages... appeared in the sky, bringing excitement to locals and visitors, especially young people...
Attending the program very early, Ngoc Quynh (21 years old, Hanoi) shared: “This is the first time I have come to participate in the opening ceremony of Thay Pagoda Festival, the atmosphere here is very bustling, the program has brought me many new experiences about traditional art forms. In particular, I was very impressed with the flycam performance in the sky, it was really beautiful, very pleasing to the eye. I hope there will be more events like this so that young people like me can better understand the traditional historical relic site”.
During the festival, at Thay Pagoda area, the Organizing Committee arranged 150 booths to introduce and promote cultural products, tourism, cuisine, craft village products, OCOP for visitors to visit and buy.
In addition, there are art performances, sports, fun experiences, folk games such as swinging, wrestling, enjoying cuisine, and watching the live performance "Quintessence of the North".
Thay Pagoda Festival and Culture, Tourism and Trade Promotion Week of Quoc Oai district in 2024 will take place until April 16./.
