In the early years of the resistance war against the French colonialists, along with the whole country, typical uprisings took place in Chau Phu, demonstrating the spirit of uprising, resistance, and refusal to accept the rule of the French colonialists. A typical example is the Bay Thua uprising initiated and led by Quan Co Tran Van Thanh, which created a brilliant milestone in the fight against foreign invaders of our nation.

The 23rd Chau Phu District Traditional Cultural Festival in 2025, commemorating the 152nd anniversary of the day Quan Co Tran Van Thanh and the Gia Nghi soldiers sacrificed their lives against the French, is an opportunity to review the glorious history, heroic traditions, and the indomitable spirit of the nation, to show gratitude and record the great contributions of our ancestors who sacrificed for today's generation to have a beautiful life.
