Organizing Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Quang Binh province

(Quang Binh Portal) - On March 24, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 458/KH-UBND to organize Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 in Quang Binh province.

Reading aims to affirm the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; encourage and develop the reading movement and spread reading culture in the community, create a favorable reading environment; form reading habits in families, schools, agencies, organizations, build a learning society; at the same time honor readers, creators, publishers, printers, distributors, libraries, preservers, collectors, promoters of books and organizations and individuals who have contributed to the development of reading culture in the community. Thereby, enhancing the responsibility of all levels, sectors, functional agencies, and social organizations for building and developing reading culture in social life.

The plan requires integrating activities in response to Book and Reading Culture Day with the implementation of political tasks of agencies, units and localities; integrating with traditional local festivals to build a cultural and historical space, linking reading culture with cultural and social life.

In addition, the organization of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day aims to raise awareness, affirm the importance, meaning, role and position of books in social life; promote exchange activities, discussions, storytelling based on books; exchange and introduce books; honor the team working in collecting, researching, composing, publishing, printing, distributing, preserving and promoting books; reflect and record the activities of the Book Festival, exchange programs, discussions about books, etc.

The organization time starts from March - May 2025. The main activities of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day will be organized from March 16, 2025 to the end of April 2025, including activities responding to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the school system, libraries, cultural houses; at printing and publishing establishments in the province.
