Dak Nong launches Action Month for cooperatives

This is the second year that the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance has organized the Action Month for Cooperatives. The action month has the theme “Cooperatives build a better world”, taking place from March 29 to April 29, 2025.

Mr. Tran Dinh Ninh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Acting Director of the Department of Finance, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for the Development of the Collective Economy in Dak Nong emphasized: The month of action for cooperatives contributes to creating a driving force for patriotic emulation.

This year's Cooperative Action Month spreads the message and actions: Cooperatives build a better future for everyone; Innovate, cooperate, develop and improve the efficiency of cooperative operations; Cooperatives cooperate and link production according to the value chain associated with key national, regional and local products.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khai, Chairman of Dak Nong Cooperative Union, called on all levels of the Party, government, departments, branches, cooperatives, and cooperatives to take at least one specific action that brings practical benefits to promote the collective economy, the core of cooperatives, to develop sustainably.

The Action Month for Cooperatives in 2025 aims to propagate, encourage and motivate to create new motivation and new spirit for cadres and workers in the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system, cooperatives, affiliated members nationwide and the whole society to be determined, make efforts, promote the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness, innovation and creativity to contribute to promoting the collective economy and cooperatives to develop more and more.

Dak Nong currently has 188 cooperative groups, 311 cooperatives, 3 people's credit funds, and 3 Cooperative Unions.

Dak Nong Cooperative Alliance and cooperatives and enterprises signed cooperation contents to promote collective economic development.

Collective economy, in which the core is cooperatives, has promoted community development in the direction of democracy, equality, helping each other escape poverty, striving to become rich legitimately, is an important highlight, a solid foundation for local socio-economic development, and a pillar in building new rural areas.

Cooperatives and enterprises sign investment cooperation and product supply agreements.

The month of action for cooperatives contributes to creating a driving force for patriotic emulation. With specific actions of cooperatives and each collective, the locality will contribute to achieving the GDP growth target of over 8% in 2025, creating momentum for double-digit growth, promoting social development in all aspects.

Mr. Bui Hoa Tham, Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Cooperative Union, presented the decision to lend capital from the Dak Nong Province Cooperative Development Support Fund to Dak Mil Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative.

The month of action for cooperatives is also an activity to celebrate the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. The United Nations General Assembly announced the first International Year of Cooperatives in 2012 with the theme "Cooperatives build a better world" to honor the contributions of cooperatives to economic and social development, especially their impact on poverty reduction, job creation and social integration.

Mr. Tran Dinh Ninh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Acting Director of the Department of Finance, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Collective Economic Development of Dak Nong and Mr. Nguyen Khai, Chairman of the Dak Nong Cooperative Alliance awarded Certificates of Merit of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to 3 cooperatives with outstanding achievements in 2024.

On June 19, 2024, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution A/RES/78/175 on Cooperatives in Social Development and proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Cooperatives.
