On the afternoon of November 26, information from a leader of Ea Tan commune (Krong Nang district) said that a 33-week pregnant woman was suspected of being doused in gasoline and set on fire by her husband, causing serious injuries. The incident occurred in Thanh Cao village, Ea Tan commune.
According to the leader of Ea Tan commune, because the family kept it a secret and did not report it to the authorities, they did not know the details. The case has now been handled and investigated by the police.
Previously, on the afternoon of November 23, the Central Highlands General Hospital received patient D.TPO (21 years old, residing in Ea Tan commune, Krong Nang district) in a state of gasoline burns. Ms. O. was determined to be 8 months pregnant.
Ms. O's family said that the victim was doused with gasoline and set on fire by her husband on the afternoon of November 22. Ms. O was then taken to Thien Hanh General Hospital (Buon Ma Thuot City) for emergency treatment and then transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital for monitoring.
According to doctors, Ms. O. suffered burns to her head, face, neck, arms, back and thighs; the victim has been transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.
