Accordingly, on the evening of March 1, when returning from the field, Mr. Hoang Van Cao (60 years old, residing in Cu Ewi commune, Cu Kuin district) did not see his three grandchildren, Hoang Van K. (10 years old), Hoang Van B. (8 years old) and Hoang Thi T. (5 years old) at home.

At this time, Mr. Cao went to his neighbors and some acquaintances to search but found no results. After that, he asked more neighbors to help him search.

Upon hearing the news, some people went to the lake area to look for the children. Others watched security cameras along the roads and posted information about the three missing children on social media asking for help.

Information about 3 children cycling away from home and going missing was quickly shared by Fanpages in Dak Lak.

At around 11:30 p.m. the same day, Mr. Cao received news that someone had found three children at Tay Nguyen University (Buon Ma Thuot City).

“Everyone gave the children dinner, milk, and candy, and kept them for my family to pick up. I never expected the three children to cycle nearly 50km,” Mr. Cao recalled.

After being asked why he left home, Hoang Van K. said that because he missed his father, the three brothers went to look for him.

Mrs. To Thi Luc (58 years old, grandmother) said that her grandchildren have very special circumstances. All 3 were born and raised in Dak Nong province. In 2021, while picking cashews in Binh Phuoc province, the children's mother disappeared. Mrs. Luc and her husband brought the 3 children back to raise and educate them.

According to Mrs. Luc, the children's father still comes to visit occasionally. Recently, the children often say they miss their father, or borrow their grandparents' phone to call him...

"The day I found him, I heard him say he missed his father and went looking for him, and tears welled up in my eyes. My husband and I tried our best but we could not make up for the fact that he lacked the warmth and love of his parents. I am truly at fault for not taking good care of him," said Mrs. Luc.

After the incident, she did not dare to go far to work anymore but had to stay home to encourage and take her grandchildren to school.

Ms. Hoang Thi Ben, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Cu Ewi Commune, said that Mr. Cao and his wife had previously moved to Dak Nong to live. Recently, they returned to the commune, bringing with them their three children. The children have now returned to school as usual.
