Improve product quality to promote exports

In 2024, Lam Dong province's export turnover will grow by 6.1%, of which the total export value of agricultural products will reach about 588.1 million USD, an increase of more than 13.6% compared to 2023, including: green coffee products (nearly 226.2 million USD); vegetables, tubers, and fruits (112 million USD); raw silk (nearly 41 million USD), increasing by more than 10.3%, 20%, and 12% over the same period, respectively. Behind this figure are the constant efforts of the Lam Dong government and people in building brands, improving product quality, and expanding markets.

BRAND - "LAUNCH PAD" FOR LAM DONG AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS

Although the total export value of agricultural products is still quite modest compared to the potential, to achieve this success, the province has focused on building and promoting brand value, especially the brand "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from the good land". Certified by the Department of Intellectual Property in 2017, this brand has become a symbol of the quality and reputation of Lam Dong agricultural products in the international market. In 2024, many of the province's agricultural export products will carry the brand "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from the good land", contributing to enhancing the value and competitiveness of Lam Dong agricultural products. Currently, the province is continuing to expand the scope of brand use for many other agricultural products, creating favorable conditions for export.

In addition, Lam Dong has proactively expanded its export markets, not only maintaining traditional markets such as Japan, Korea, and Europe, but also exploiting potential markets such as China, Southeast Asia, and Australia.

Currently, the province's vegetable, root and fruit products are exported to the main markets of East Asia (Japan, Korea, Taiwan - China, Singapore, Thailand, China) and a small part is exported to Europe. Flowers are mainly exported to the main markets of East Asia and Southeast Asia (Japan, Taiwan - China, China, Singapore, Thailand), in addition to Australia and some European countries. Durian, the main export markets are China, Japan, Taiwan - China. In 2024, the export output of durian to China will reach 25,518 tons, with a total turnover of about 104.15 million USD. Coffee is currently mainly exported to Japan, Korea and Europe and silk is exported to the main market of India.

MEETS INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

To continue developing agricultural exports, Lam Dong has identified improving product quality as a key factor. The province has been implementing many solutions to meet the strict requirements of the international market, including encouraging investment in modern and advanced production technology; applying international quality standards (VietGAP, GlobalGAP...); strengthening inspection and supervision of product quality and encouraging and supporting businesses to build sustainable cooperative relationships with export partners.

Entering 2025, Lam Dong is continuing to direct the acceleration of agricultural restructuring, focusing on digital transformation, towards smart, modern and sustainable agriculture. The goal is to bring the province's agricultural products deeply into the global value chain, in which products with the brand name "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from the good land" are an important industry, with competitive advantages in the domestic and export markets.

Positive signals from agricultural exports in the first month of 2025 such as vegetables and fruits increased slightly by 2.3%, reaching 2.43 thousand tons and export value increased by 1.1%, reaching 7.1 million USD; flower export value increased slightly by 0.3%, reaching 6.5 million USD; coffee beans although exported decreased by 18.9%, but export value increased by 33.4%, reaching 18 million USD... are encouraging signals and evidence of the province's efforts and strategy to develop agriculture in the right direction.
