According to information from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Thach Thanh district, after peaking at 5:00 p.m. on September 13 at 11.86m (0.14m below alert level III), the flood on the Buoi River is receding.

The water level measured at Kim Tan Hydrological Station at 9:00 a.m. on September 14 was 11.65m.

Forecast information from Thanh Hoa Hydrometeorological Station shows that the flood peak on Buoi River appeared at 5:00 p.m. on September 13. The flood will then recede to alert level II (11m) at 7:00 p.m. on September 14 and continue to recede.

Shops have reopened in Ngoc Bo neighborhood (Kim Tan town) to serve people's needs.

The flood has receded and the number of flooded houses has also decreased significantly compared to the peak of the flood. Many households have started cleaning their houses and stabilizing their lives after the flood.

In Thanh Truc commune, although some roads are still flooded, the water level is not significant and people can travel. Many people took the opportunity to go to the fields to rebuild some of the broken rice fields.

Due to the receding water, people have been able to proactively obtain food and provisions. Since this morning, Thanh Truc commune has announced that it will stop receiving relief goods.

Chairman of Thanh Truc Commune People's Committee Nguyen Huu Long said that the Party Committee, government and people of Thanh Truc Commune sincerely thanked organizations, individuals and philanthropists for their concern, help and sending relief goods to people affected by natural disasters. Through this, they have contributed to sharing difficulties and encouraging people affected by the damage to try to overcome the consequences of floods and stabilize their lives.

“Currently, the flood water is receding and life is returning to normal. The commune has decided to stop receiving relief goods to give more opportunities to people in other localities facing more difficulties,” Mr. Long shared.

According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Thach Thanh district, 6/6 drainage pumping stations in the area are currently operating at full capacity. The district has directed communes and towns to focus on helping people clean up their houses and stabilize their lives after the flood waters recede.
