Hue - City directly under the Central Government

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Hue City Party Committee Le Truong Luu emphasized that the achievements that Hue City has achieved in recent times are the crystallization of patriotism, solidarity, diligence and creativity in fighting, working and studying of generations of cadres, party members and people of the entire city.

After 50 years of liberation and nearly 40 years of renovation, Hue City has achieved many encouraging achievements. By 2024, the economic growth rate will reach 8.15%, the total budget revenue will reach nearly 13 trillion VND, approaching the threshold of budget balance. The cultural and social fields will change positively.

Hue City is increasingly affirming its position as a unique cultural and tourism center; specialized healthcare; multi-disciplinary, high-quality education and training center of the country. National defense and security are maintained, foreign affairs activities are increasingly going into depth. The work of building the Party and the political system is constantly improving in quality.

Hue was honored to be awarded the First Class Independence Medal by the State twice. From January 1, 2025, Thua Thien Hue province officially became the 6th city directly under the Central Government according to Resolution 175 of the National Assembly.

Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Truong Luu affirmed that Hue will continue to promote historical traditions, preserve the identity of the heritage city, and strive to develop sustainably, safely, friendly, happy, imbued with Hue culture. He called on cadres, soldiers and people of Hue City to continue to unite, promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, overcome difficulties, compete to complete the socio-economic targets in 2025 and the 5-year plan 2020 - 2025.

Developing Hue into a leading cultural center

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu highly appreciated the achievements that Hue City has made over the past 50 years. He acknowledged the efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Hue to overcome difficulties in the context of a weak post-war economy, often facing natural disasters and epidemics.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat emphasized that the Party and State hope that Hue City will continue to promote its historical and cultural traditions, solidarity spirit and aspirations, promote innovation and creativity, and create a strong driving force to build Hue into a city of sustainable development, safety, friendliness and happiness.

He suggested that Hue City pay attention to effectively implementing Resolution 175 of the National Assembly on the establishment of Hue City under the Central Government, ensuring a streamlined and effective organizational structure to meet development requirements in the new situation. At the same time, promote the potential and advantages of the locality, mobilize resources to invest in socio-economic infrastructure, urban areas, digital transformation, science and technology and administrative reform to create a favorable environment for development.
