Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam highly appreciated the initiative of the News Campaign, with the theme Anti Fake News, with the goal of building a positive cyberspace for more than 80 million Vietnamese people who use the Internet every day.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, many people now consider cyberspace as their second life, always creating content that affects the community. At the same time, cross-border social networking platforms are increasingly developing in Vietnam, allowing users to post free content and exploit advertising. This also contributes to the increase in fake and untrue news.

The situation of fake news has many new developments and we cannot just sit and wait but have to have faith in those who have positive influence on social networks. As for the management agencies, they face and handle many problems in cyberspace every day to protect and help people have a safe and healthy digital ecosystem.

The Deputy Minister shared: "We see that there is no reason for state agencies to do this alone, but must mobilize progressive resources and positive energies in society. Currently, cross-border network operators are switching to a model of collecting users' money so that they do not have to watch ads, showing a positive signal in fighting fake news and toxic news. Content creators who want to earn money also need to change their service perspective. In particular, they will promote social responsibility and accompany state agencies to spread good values and policies to people in the most appropriate way."

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam hopes that the News Campaign is a healthy playground, encouraging many people to create positive content that brings common value to the community.

Sharing about the organization of this event, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information Le Quang Tu Do said that this is an activity we have been waiting for for a long time, an activity that gathers together to stand shoulder to shoulder with KOLs, online content creators to do meaningful communication activities for the community. Why did the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information choose the topic of Anti Fake News, because this is a problem that all of us have experienced and encountered. And when we shared the idea, we received the response and participation of many units, musicians who compose songs about fighting fake news, KOLs, digital content creators.

Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information Le Quang Tu Do spoke at the event.

In the "sea" of information on social networks, how to distinguish between fake and real news and not suffer the consequences is the highest goal that the campaign aims for.

According to Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, in addition to creating a healthy playground for digital creators, the Department wants to honor active content creators on social networks. Content creation is a very new profession in Vietnam but is fragmented. Some people choose to create clean content, while a large number choose to create dirty content to quickly become famous and make money. I hope that content creators choose to create useful content that will be supported by the community and develop their careers in the long term.
