As of April 2024, Forbes estimates that there are more than 2,700 billionaires worldwide, with a combined net worth of $14.2 trillion. However, the distribution of wealth among them is uneven, with much of it concentrated in a handful of countries and a small group of individuals.
Data from Knight Frank’s 2025 Wealth Report shows that US billionaires hold $5.7 trillion, more than the next 10 countries combined ($5.5 trillion). The US now accounts for 30% of the world’s billionaires but controls 40% of the total wealth, the highest level in a decade.

However, since Donald Trump took office in January this year, many American billionaires such as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Sergey Brin, Mark Zuckerberg and Bernard Arnault have lost a total of 209 billion USD due to plunging stock prices and market recession.
While the US remains the "mecca" of billionaires, China is the country with the largest net increase in the number of billionaires from 2015 to 2025, showing the movement of ultra-rich individuals globally.
Here's how much wealth billionaires will hold in 11 countries in 2024.
