Vinh Hoi Apartment was built before 1975. In 2017, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction inspected the quality of this apartment building and classified it as dangerous, requiring urgent relocation and demolition. However, until now, households that have not been relocated are still living in insecurity.

Most of the walls are old and covered with moss.

The ceiling, walls and railings were also heavily peeled off, revealing rusty steel cores.

Cracked ceilings always pose a danger to people.

Currently, the corridors and walls at Vinh Hoi apartment building are being reinforced with iron bars by residents to ensure safety.

The bottom of the stairs has many cracks.

The apartment management board also posted warnings for residents to avoid.

Garbage, water system, and trees piled up behind the apartment building are unsafe for residents.

Some residents who have lived here for more than 40 years shared that people are very in agreement with the Project to renovate and rebuild damaged old apartment buildings.

In addition to Vinh Hoi apartment building, Ngo Gia Tu apartment building, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City, built 57 years ago, is also a group D apartment building on the priority list for repair.
