Ministry of Information and Communications organizes annual media awards on human rights

On February 10, the Ministry of Information and Communications decided to organize the annual Human Rights Media Award to honor groups and individuals with outstanding media works on the topic of human rights.

This award is chaired by the Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with relevant ministries and branches, and is launched and organized annually.

The purpose of the award is to widely communicate Vietnam's efforts and achievements in protecting and promoting human rights. Strengthening the connection between agencies, units and localities; mobilizing the combined strength of all classes of people in the country, the overseas Vietnamese community and international friends in human rights communication work, thereby maximizing the proactiveness and positivity of the forces and improving the effectiveness of traditional foreign affairs work on human rights. The award honors outstanding works/products of authors and groups of authors at home and abroad, vividly and objectively affirming the achievements that Vietnam has achieved in the field of protecting and promoting human rights. Creating a rich, high-quality data source to serve the country's foreign communication activities in the long term.

The award considers and awards works/media products in the categories: photos, video clips and will continue to expand to other types of media. The award is open to all Vietnamese and foreign citizens from 15 years old.

The works/products considered for the award are typical and meet the highest selection criteria of the Award, have domestic and international influence; effectively serve foreign information work including:

Convey valuable knowledge about human rights, attract the attention of the general public and have wide influence at home and abroad.

Truly and vividly reflect Vietnam's efforts and achievements in ensuring and promoting human rights in Vietnam through the image of people enjoying legitimate rights and interests and an independent, free, happy and developed Vietnam; development achievements in all aspects of Vietnam's political, economic, cultural and social life, especially in the process of innovation, development and international integration; affirming Vietnam's role and contribution to promoting human rights on the international level.

The product/work does not violate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and the contest's regulations; is in accordance with national customs and cultural traditions.

The award structure includes: First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, Encouragement Prize and prizes awarded to localities with the most entries; localities with the most entries winning first prizes. The winning authors will receive the logo of the Annual Human Rights Award, a Certificate from the Organizing Committee and a bonus according to the regulations of the Award Council.

The announcement and award ceremony of the annual Media Awards for People is expected to be held in the fourth quarter of each year and broadcast live on television channels and digital platforms as selected by the Organizing Committee.
