On the morning of February 27, the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP) and Siemens Electronic Design Automation Company (Siemens) signed a cooperation agreement to develop and train human resources for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
The agreement is based on promoting the advantages and experience of the High-Tech Park in training human resources for the semiconductor industry and exploiting Siemens' strengths in training human resources and providing design software. Accordingly, Siemens commits to providing the world's most comprehensive solution set including software, hardware and electronic design automation (EDA) services.
The Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park also identified semiconductor training as one of the key activities, aiming to realize the goal of developing the city's semiconductor industry and helping the high-tech park get closer to the goal of becoming the leading science, technology and innovation urban area in the Southeast region and the whole country.
“We believe that the cooperation agreement between SHTP and Siemens will promote human resource training in the field of semiconductor industry. This program will create opportunities for students to access advanced technology in design and accumulate a lot of practical experience. In addition, the cooperation will greatly contribute to improving the operational capacity of the Electronics and Semiconductor Training Center (ESC), contributing to the development of the semiconductor industry in Ho Chi Minh City and promoting the growth of the Vietnamese economy,” said Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, shared that currently, the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park has a fully developed infrastructure, in addition, the city has more than 50 universities, where millions of students, tens of thousands of engineers and highly qualified workers gather. The city is ready to create all favorable conditions for enterprises and technology corporations to carry out research activities, transfer and promote the development of science and technology. Hopefully, in the coming time, there will be more semiconductor enterprises and large electronics corporations coming to Ho Chi Minh City to realize the goal of developing into a Semiconductor Industrial Center in the region.
