TKV's new technology line for loading and transporting finished coal.
Coal Preparation Workshop 2, Cua Ong Coal Preparation Company is one of the pioneers in applying automation. This is the Company's main coal screening and processing workshop, playing an important role in ensuring the quality and quantity of coal supplied to the market.
According to the 2025 plan, Coal Preparation Workshop 2 will screen more than 5.6 million tons of raw coal, of which the output of clean coal after screening will reach over 3.9 million tons. In the first 2 months of 2025, the Workshop has processed more than 380,000 tons of coal of all kinds, demonstrating the stability and efficiency in operating the production line.
One of the factors that helped the Workshop achieve this result was the control and automation system of Coal Preparation Plant 2. Previously, phase 1 of the control and automation system of 50 belt lines serving the washing of all types of coal was invested by Cua Ong Coal Preparation Company.
To upgrade the system to meet production requirements, at the end of July 2024, the Company continued to invest in the control and automation system of Tuyen t2 factory (phase 2). This system is currently being tested and prepared for use. When put into operation, this system will not only help save labor but also optimize the production management and operation process.
Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, Manager of Coal Selection Workshop 2, said that the application of control and automation systems in the workshop has significantly improved labor productivity. Not only does it reduce work pressure for workers, but it also helps production management become more convenient, reduces work contacts, and increases accuracy in monitoring coal quality.
Not only Cua Ong Coal Selection Company, some mines in the Group, such as Mao Khe, Nam Mau, Vang Danh, Khe Cham II-IV... are effectively applying the level of mechanization and modernization of underground coal mining. Under the same conditions, in the drilling and blasting longwall, the average number of workers is 120-180 people/workshop, the output reaches 120,000-180,000 tons/year, while in the mechanized longwall, it is 90 people/workshop and the output reaches 230,000-400,000 tons/year, labor productivity increases by 1.5-2.5 times, reducing the number of workers working directly at the longwall by 1.5-2 times. Particularly for coal screening and processing enterprises, TKV maximizes the automation of the monitoring of key technological parameters; automatically controls the working mode of electromechanical equipment in the chain.
Implementing digital transformation, especially applying 4.0 technology, in recent times, TKV has strengthened the direction of units to focus on promoting the application of mechanization, automation, and computerization in production and management to improve production and business efficiency. Up to now, TKV has applied 3 technologies (mechanization, automation, computerization) in most areas of production, business and management to improve working conditions for workers, increase labor productivity, ensure safety, save resources and contribute to environmental protection... In particular, TKV has built many projects and topics, proposed solutions to improve the level of mechanization and modernization of mine technology in 5 areas, including: Underground mining, open-pit mining, coal selection, mine safety management, environmental protection.
In the coming time, TKV will continue to promote the "3-industry" strategy, focusing on automation to further improve labor productivity and production efficiency. Advanced technology solutions are researched and widely applied in all units of the Group.
