- Mobilizing social resources to join hands "For the poor"

On October 19, 2023, the Steering Committee of the Fund "For the Poor" of Hung Yen province launched the Peak Month "For the Poor" in 2023.
Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Yen province Nguyen Thi Kim Thuy said that the Peak Month for the Poor in 2023 will take place from October 17 to November 18. The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the Mobilization Committee of the Fund for the Poor at all levels will focus on disseminating information on social security work; the content and significance of the Peak Month, the results of implementing support programs for poor households, near-poor households, and people in difficult circumstances in the province; and the contributions of agencies, organizations, businesses and individuals to support the Fund for the Poor at all levels.
The member sectors of the Fund for the Poor Mobilization Committee and member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels coordinate to propagate the results of their organizations' assistance to poor union members and the results of their participation in mobilizing and contributing to the Fund for the Poor and social security programs in the province.
During the peak month of 2023, the Hung Yen Provincial Fund for the Poor Mobilization Committee strives to mobilize 6.7 billion VND or more. Of which, the provincial fund strives to reach 700 million VND or more; the district and commune funds are over 6 billion VND or more. Localities encourage cadres, civil servants, and public employees in agencies, units, and armed forces; employees in enterprises and economic organizations to donate one day's salary or more; enterprises and people from all walks of life inside and outside the province to participate in donating to the best of their ability.
Since the beginning of 2023, the Fund for the Poor at all levels in Hung Yen province has mobilized nearly 56 billion VND. Through the fund, tens of thousands of poor and near-poor households, students, and people in difficult circumstances have received gifts and support in many forms with a total amount of over 22 billion VND.
With the desire to help poor households settle down, in March 2023, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province organized the program Joining hands to support poor households and Agent Orange victims with housing. Accordingly, agencies, units, and enterprises registered to support 104 billion VND. After reviewing according to regulations, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision approving support for 713 poor households and 142 Agent Orange victims to build and repair houses. On this occasion, the leaders of Hung Yen province, along with units and enterprises, supported the Provincial Fund for the Poor with over 1.7 billion VND.
Hung Yen currently has about 7,800 poor households, of which nearly 1,000 households have damaged or degraded houses but do not have the conditions to repair or rebuild, so they are in dire need of support to build houses to stabilize their lives.
