Can students change the place of initial health insurance registration?

Question:

Can students change the place of initial medical examination and treatment registration on their health insurance card? What are the procedures? – Mr. Le Thanh Binh (Ha Dong district, Hanoi)

Hanoi Social Insurance replied:

Pursuant to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 47 of the Procedures for collecting social insurance (SI), health insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational accident and disease insurance; management of SI books and HI cards issued with Consolidated Document No. 2525/VBHN-BHXH dated August 15, 2023 of Vietnam Social Security, it is stipulated as follows:

“3. Health insurance participants are allowed to change their initial medical examination and treatment registration facility in the first month of the quarter.”

Medical staff examine and provide oral health care for students in Hanoi.

Thus, students can change their initial medical examination and treatment registration location at the beginning of each quarter.

To change the initial medical examination and treatment facility, students must complete the procedure to change their health insurance card. The documents include: application form, adjustment of social insurance and health insurance information (form TK1-TS, 01 copy/person).

Please note that changing the initial medical examination and treatment registration location can only be done in the first month of each quarter and the location you want to change to as the initial medical examination and treatment registration location must be on the list of initial medical examination and treatment facilities allowed to register according to regulations.

You can submit your application to the educational institution where you/your child is studying or directly to the Social Insurance agency of the district/county where you/your child is participating in health insurance to complete the procedure to change the initial medical examination and treatment registration location.
