How dangerous is facial nerve palsy?
Cranial nerve 7 is a peripheral nerve that controls facial muscle activity. Symptoms of facial nerve 7 palsy are facial paralysis or facial distortion. This syndrome causes facial paralysis that causes partial or complete loss of symmetry.
The cause of the symptoms of facial nerve palsy is mostly due to the body being exposed to cold air that is not balanced with body temperature in time. At the same time, cold air that is too different from body temperature will directly affect the facial nerve.
Some other causes are also identified as affecting the 7th cranial nerve such as: Complications after the patient has a trauma to the temporal region; complications after a trauma to the mastoid bone; the patient has a history of inflammation in the ear, nose and throat area for a long time...
In addition, pathological problems and facial injuries will affect the 7th nerve.

What to do when you have Bell's palsy
The effectiveness of treatment for Bell's palsy depends largely on the timing of treatment, the method of treatment, the patient's response to treatment, and many other factors. About 80% of patients are cured when detected early and treated properly from the beginning. Younger patients often recover faster than older people.
In severe cases and late treatment, the recovery rate is about 80 - 90% or lower if treated incorrectly. Especially patients with degeneration and atherosclerosis. After treatment, the mouth is still crooked when smiling, and eating and drinking do not return to normal.
To cure facial paralysis due to facial nerve palsy, the patient needs to be detected early and the cause must be determined correctly. The most important thing is to have the right treatment regimen and good recovery care methods. Therefore, if there are any signs related to this condition, the patient needs to go to a reputable medical facility as soon as possible for timely intervention.
