The program is organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The Quyet Thang Squadron, consisting of 6 pilots, carried out a bombing raid on Tan Son Nhat Airport on April 28, 1975. This was considered the sixth attack from the sky by the Vietnamese Air Force, helping the remaining five wings to advance and liberate Saigon more smoothly.

At 4:15 p.m. on April 28, 1975, the Quyet Thang Squadron, consisting of six pilots: Nguyen Van Luc, Han Van Quang, Nguyen Thanh Trung, Tu De, Hoang Mai Vuong and Tran Van On (a pilot in exile from the old regime), flew five A37 aircraft simultaneously towards Tan Son Nhat Airport, creating a bomb explosion that shook the entire city of Saigon. At exactly 6:15 p.m. on April 28, 1975, the entire squadron landed safely at Thanh Son Airport (Phan Rang), without any losses.

After peace was restored, pilot Hoang Mai Vuong died during a mission. To date, five members of the Quyet Thang Squadron are still alive.
