The Bachelor of Game Design and Programming and Game Graphics program at BUV is expected to provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to be ready to enter this potential job market.

Difficult human resource problem for "rising" industries

In Vietnam, Gaming is considered an industry with great potential for development. The Gaming industry is receiving attention and investment, and is considered one of the 8 fields that will help Vietnam make a breakthrough in development. According to the report, the revenue of the Vietnamese Gaming industry has exceeded 500 million USD, ranking 5th in Southeast Asia; and more than half of the Vietnamese population accesses entertainment with gaming products.

It can be seen that in the future, the Game industry will still require a large number of highly educated workers. However, most of the human resources in the Vietnamese Game industry today come from fields such as information technology, graphic design, etc. The number of domestic educational institutions that have formal training programs in Game design and development is currently quite modest.

In Vietnam, British University Vietnam (BUV) is one of the few higher education institutions offering the BA in Game Design and Programming and the BA in Game Graphics, awarded by Staffordshire University (UK), with the same curriculum and teaching quality as the UK-awarding institution. The BA in Game Graphics is also one of the 6 new training programs that BUV will offer from the 2024-2025 academic year, providing a prestigious and world-class training option for Vietnamese people.

The strength of the training method of the two Bachelor of Game Graphics and Bachelor of Game Design and Programming programs at BUV is learning through practical experience and projects - the best method to understand the entire game development process. Students are not only free to develop creative game projects through exercises and tests, but also have the opportunity to participate in game development projects under the evaluation and guidance of lecturers and leading experts.

In addition, with the commitment to accompany the Vietnamese Government on the journey of training human resources for the Vietnamese Game industry, BUV has exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Innovation Center (NIC) on strategic cooperation to develop the industry.
