On March 19, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Center for Overseas Labor (COLAB) signed a Contract to supply Vietnamese workers to work as nursing assistants in the Federal Republic of Germany with Vivantes LLC - Forum for the Elderly.
Attending and witnessing the signing ceremony, on the Vietnamese side, there were Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan and representatives of the leaders of the units: Ministry Office, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Overseas Labor Management, Overseas Labor Center.
On the German side, there was German Ambassador to Vietnam Helga Margarete Barth and her colleagues.
The signing of the Labor Supply Contract to send Vietnamese workers to work as nursing assistants in the Federal Republic of Germany will create opportunities for Vietnamese workers with expertise to improve their skills in the nursing industry and have the opportunity to work in Germany long-term. At the same time, the Supply Contract will also help Germany meet the demand for human resources in the nursing industry.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Ba Hoan acknowledged and highly appreciated the long-term diplomatic and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Germany, especially in the fields of labor, employment, and vocational training, which have achieved many good results.
Since 2015, the Overseas Labor Center has cooperated with Vivantes to select and send 916 nurses to study and work in Germany, actively contributing to the results of cooperation in the field of labor migration, creating an important mark on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Signing Ceremony of the Supply Contract is a practical and important activity, affirming the strong relationship in the context of the two countries celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany.
In the coming time, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs assigned the Overseas Labor Center to cooperate with Vivantes Company to develop a plan and deploy the selection of Vietnamese workers to work as nursing assistants in the Federal Republic of Germany in accordance with the spirit of fairness, transparency and ensuring the legal regulations of the two countries.
In addition, the Deputy Minister asked Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth to pay attention to and promote the early organization of the Vietnam - Germany Labor Cooperation Forum in 2025. Vietnam has prepared and is ready to fully meet the conditions to successfully organize the Forum according to the agreement of both sides in 2024.
Also speaking at the signing ceremony, German Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth shared that the signing ceremony of the Supply Contract is of great significance in receiving skilled workers to work in Germany. In particular, the Supply Contract will be a milestone signed at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany.

German Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth informed that Germany is facing a major problem as all industries and sectors are facing a serious shortage of workers. Particularly in the healthcare sector, Germany is under great pressure and increasing demand due to the rapid aging of the population.
Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth expressed her joy at the success of the cooperation projects between Vietnam and Germany. Above all, the cooperation between the Overseas Labor Center and Vivantes has helped over 900 young Vietnamese people to come to Germany to study and research health care according to the principles of fairness, transparency, ensuring ethical standards and mutual benefit.
The German Ambassador also shared 3 more experiences for Vietnamese workers to successfully participate in the German labor market, such as: (1) Prepare well in language and quickly grasp knowledge about culture, environment, customs and practices; (2) Strengthen connections with receiving businesses in Germany to meet and receive feedback on actual work; (3) Expand the support network for yourself after arriving in Germany.

At the signing ceremony, Director of the Overseas Labor Center Dang Huy Hong and Executive Director of Vivantes LLC - Forum for the Elderly Rene Herrmann signed a Contract to supply Vietnamese workers to work as nursing assistants in the Federal Republic of Germany.
After signing, the program will be implemented in a non-profit form, helping workers participating in the program when working in the Federal Republic of Germany to be arranged jobs in the right profession, have stable income, and be guaranteed social benefits like German citizens. Notably, Vietnamese workers will not need to participate in vocational training courses, helping to save time and costs.
