UK - a global education model
It is no coincidence that the UK is a study abroad destination for many Vietnamese students and is the "cradle" of many prestigious global educational institutions, creating exemplary scales.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Report, UK universities are among the best in terms of university-industry collaboration, ensuring graduates meet the demands of employers. The UK is also a leader in research, with the second highest number of Nobel Prizes awarded since 1901, with 139.
The “Land of Fog” is the cradle of world-famous universities. Oxford University, Cambridge University and University of London are all familiar names.
One of the common points between the prestigious universities mentioned above is that they all hold high positions in university rankings from global educational accreditation organizations in general and the UK in particular.
Typically in the UK, prestigious organizations and rankings such as the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), CUG (Complete University Guide), the British Accreditation Council (BAC) or QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) with the QS World University Ranking are always of interest to academics. In addition, because they have long-standing prestigious universities as their "upper limit", these accreditation organizations also possess the most stringent assessment regulations and accreditation criteria in the world.
Opportunity to study in a British standard educational environment
In Vietnam, students wishing to pursue the British education model can refer to schools accredited by QAA. QAA is an organization designated by the British Government as an agency for quality and standards assessment of higher education. In Vietnam, QAA is a British accreditation organization approved by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Department of Quality Management. The criteria set by these organizations all focus on academics and student-centeredness - the most important characteristics that make up the quality of British education.
For example, the QAA certification requires universities to meet 10 criteria built on the European Standards & Principles for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. Or QS Stars - the star rating system of QS - also sets out a set of high-standard criteria, including: Learning experience, Student employment, Sustainable development, Research and innovation and International relations.
Thanks to the strict “input”, universities on the list recognized by QAA or awarded stars by QS Stars all have guaranteed educational quality. A typical example is British University Vietnam (BUV), headquartered in Hanoi. This is the pioneer university in Vietnam to achieve a comprehensive 5-star rating from QS Stars; and is also the only university in the ASEAN region to achieve accreditation certification from QAA.
Focusing on academics, BUV is rated 5 stars by QS Stars in both teaching and academic development with 100% of lecturers holding international degrees, 55% holding doctorates, 42% of lecturers actively participating in scientific research and having many recognized scientific research articles.
With direct degree programs from leading UK universities such as University of London, University of Stirling, Staffordshire University, Arts University Bournemouth, which are globally recognized, BUV creates conditions for students to exchange and transfer to international universities under its extensive network of partners from many advanced countries. The school also owns the Center for Research and Innovation (CRI), promoting scientific research, creating a springboard for students to pursue their academic career.
BUV is also highly appreciated by QAA in 3 areas: relationships with employers and society, supporting students in work - internships and personal development, ensuring 100% of students have jobs or further study within 3 months of graduation.
BUV owns the Personal & Social Growth (PSG) Program, which is exclusively developed in Vietnam, providing students with comprehensive knowledge and skills to prepare for their career journey. The world-class campus and international standard student support services also aim at this common goal.
With quality assurance from leading UK organizations, parents and students can rest assured about the training process and results of universities like BUV. From the door of a quality, prestigious university, young people will have enough provisions to build a stable, bright future for themselves.
