On the morning of March 13, the PVF-CAND Club's board of directors decided to withdraw Mr. Mauro Jeronimo from the role of head coach. The team plans to bring in Mr. Thach Bao Khanh to replace him. If nothing changes, Mr. Khanh will take over the position of head coach of this team.
After 3 consecutive seasons, Mr. Mauro could not bring the team to play in the V-League. By the middle of the fourth season, the club's leadership could no longer be patient. The 0-2 home loss to Tre TP.HCM in the 12th round of the First Division on March 8, causing PVF-CAND to miss the opportunity to equalize points with the second-placed team Binh Phuoc, was the last straw that made Mr. Mauro lose his job.
Mr. Mauro Jeronimo, born in 1987, Portuguese, has led Pho Hien Club (formerly known as PVF-CAND) since 2022. He helped the team win the runner-up position in the First Division in the 2002-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. In these two seasons, PVF-CAND were in the play-offs for promotion to the V-League but lost both.
Previously, Mr. Mauro worked at PVF Football Center (Hung Yen), in charge of youth teams.
The biggest mark in the 3 seasons of Mr. Mauro leading PVF-CAND is helping many students to join the national team/U23 Vietnam such as Huynh Cong Den, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Nguyen Duc Phu, Nguyen Bao Long or Nguyen Xuan Bac.
In the most recent training sessions of U22 Vietnam , PVF-CAND has always been the team with the largest number of players among the teams participating in the First Division.
Currently, PVF-CAND Club has 21 points after 11 matches, ranking 3rd in the National First Division, behind Ninh Binh and Binh Phuoc. The team is competing for second place to win a play-off spot, to play in the V-League next season.
