On March 13, agricultural technology startup Agros officially launched in the Vietnamese market. Along with the launch, the startup also announced a partnership with Stride, a clean technology startup in Vietnam, to bring solar-powered irrigation solutions combined with flexible payment packages to farmers.
Accordingly, these two startups will combine solar irrigation technology and flexible seasonal payment packages, helping farmers adopt sustainable technology without the obstacle of initial investment costs.
The model has been successfully implemented in many Southeast Asian countries, helping farmers increase profits by up to 40% by improving crop productivity and optimizing operating costs.
Mr. Max Nelen - CEO of Agros - said that previously, farmers often had to spend about 1 to 2 million VND per month on fuel when using diesel or electric pumps for irrigation.
By switching to this startup's solar water pumps, farmers can eliminate 100% of this cost, increasing their income and improving their productivity.
“More than 6,000 farmers in Cambodia, Indonesia and Myanmar have benefited from our solution and we are looking forward to bringing this solution to Vietnam,” said Mr. Max Nelen.
Additionally, thanks to Stride’s green financing package, farmers don’t need to make a large upfront payment, but can instead install the pump, start saving money on fuel right away and pay it off over time.
In addition to supporting farmers, this cooperation also contributes to reducing emissions through the conversion from diesel pumps to solar pumps, significantly reducing emissions and promoting green agricultural practices. This is also a step forward for Vietnam to achieve its green growth and sustainable development goals.
