AE TA Agricultural Cooperative is currently managing 62 hectares of agricultural land in Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province.
Of which, 35 hectares are specialized in growing pineapples by the cooperative. Previously, pineapples were mainly cultivated using traditional methods, and consumption was largely dependent on traders. In addition, the quality of pineapples was not high, and prices were unstable.
Since 2022, Mr. Dau Phi Canh - Director of AE TA Agricultural Cooperative has decided to switch to growing pineapples according to Global GAP standards. First, the Cooperative decided to experiment with 5 hectares of Queen and MD2 pineapples.
To achieve Global GAP certification, a strict set of criteria with 147 specific contents must be met.
Therefore, the cooperative has received support from the local authorities to invite agricultural engineers to train and transfer technology. The entire pineapple growing process is strictly implemented, from land preparation, seed selection, care to harvesting.
In particular, the cooperative only uses organic fertilizers and ensures that no residue is left in the product.
In addition, during the pineapple growing process, AE TA Agricultural Cooperative always records full field diaries to control quality and serve periodic inspection and evaluation.
