The Pi Core Team has announced that they have opened the SuperNode role to the Pioneer community, but the selection criteria have not been announced yet. There is no public list, and no specific report has been shared about how the selection process will be conducted. Many users on Reddit have asked the question "What is a SuperNode?" but have received only vague answers.

Some Pioneers also shared that they have been running nodes for months without receiving rewards, which makes them skeptical about whether becoming a SuperNode is really for the community or is limited to a group of people with strong technical knowledge and resources.

SuperNodes are an important part of the Pi Network ecosystem. However, the current implementation is contrary to the decentralization that the project once promised. To build trust, the Pi Core Team needs to be transparent about the selection criteria, publicize the list of selected nodes, and provide a clear reward mechanism. Only by doing so can Pi Network demonstrate its commitment to a fair and open ecosystem for all users.
