Groundbreaking ceremony for La Gi town bypass connecting National Highway 55

After completing the route, the bridge over Dinh River will reduce traffic on National Highway 55 (QL55) through La Gi town, which is currently crowded and overloaded.


On the morning of February 28, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Director of the Traffic Project Management Board of Ninh Thuan province, said that the La Gi town bypass road and the bridge over Dinh river had been broken ground by contractors.

The La Gi town bypass route has a total length of 6.8km, on the route to build the new Dinh River bridge. The total investment cost is more than 212 billion VND from central and local support capital.

According to the approved design, the route is divided into three sections including: section one is 530m long, roadbed width is 22m, road surface width is 12m.

Section two is nearly 5km long, with a roadbed width of 15m and a road surface width of 13m. Section three is more than 1.3km long, with an asphalt concrete road surface.

On the new Dinh River bridge route at Km 6+000, drainage, fire-fighting water supply, lighting system, trees and traffic safety items.

The joint venture contractor is Phan Dinh Construction Company Limited - 134 Vietnam Joint Stock Company - Hung Nguyen Company Limited. The construction time is expected to be completed by the end of June 2027 (900 days).

According to the reporter's records on the morning of February 28, at the construction site, many equipment and machines were mobilized by the contractor.

Construction teams are leveling, clearing the ground, arranging camps, construction command posts, and constructing service roads to construct before Dinh River Bridge.

Regarding site clearance, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hien, Deputy Director of the Provincial Traffic Project Management Board (investor) said that the Board is currently working closely with the locality to promptly complete procedures for handing over the site to the construction contractor.

"The Department of Natural Resources and Environment (now the Department of Agriculture and Environment - PV) has appraised and handed over the cadastral map to the Land Fund Development Center of La Gi town and Ham Tan district to reclaim land for the project," Mr. Hien informed.

The project of bypassing La Gi town and bridge over Dinh river starts at the intersection with DT.719 route at Km54+140 (Ham Tan district). The end point is at QL55 at Km83+100, La Gi town (Binh Thuan province). After completion, this route will play the role of "sharing the fire" with QL55 through La Gi town.
