According to the province's report at the working session: For primary education, as of December 2024, Lao Cai has more than 6,000 cadres and teachers, reaching a rate of 1.54 teachers/class; nearly 90% of teachers meet training standards; 100% meet professional standards. 100% of communes and wards meet the standards for universal primary education level 3; over 95% of children complete primary school at the right age.
Regarding preschool education, by December 2024, 100% of communes and districts will meet the standards for universal preschool education for 4-year-olds, with the rate of 4-year-old children attending class reaching 99.8%.
The delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training highly appreciated the direction and management of universal education in Lao Cai province, and requested Lao Cai province to continue to effectively implement resolutions on universal education; pay attention to supplementing and training teachers, ensuring facilities, especially in difficult areas...
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, proposed to the working delegation a number of contents such as: issuing instructions on online teaching with foreign countries; developing inclusive education materials for children with disabilities, and providing instructions on printing local documents.

Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee also proposed that the Ministry of Education and Training advise the Government to issue a Decree on compulsory primary education, amend policies to support students in disadvantaged areas, supplement teacher regimes and upgrade universal education management software.
